Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 1, 2026

Trichometrics ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Trichometrics (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account Information: When you create an account with email and password, we collect your email address and password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from that provider (Apple may supply a private relay email address instead of your real one).
  • Profile Information: You may optionally provide your first name, sex, birth year, and primary concern area to help personalize your experience.
  • Photos: You can upload photos of your scalp/hair for analysis and progress tracking. These photos are stored securely and are only accessible to you.
  • Treatment Data: Information about treatments you track, including names, dosages, frequencies, and logs.
  • Analysis Results: Results from AI-powered hair health analyses.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App
  • Process and complete hair health analyses
  • Track your treatment adherence and progress over time
  • Send you reminders for treatments (if enabled)
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and administrative messages

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use Supabase for our backend infrastructure, which provides:

  • Encrypted data storage
  • Secure authentication
  • Row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data

Photos are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls ensuring only you can view your images.

4. AI Analysis and Data Processing

Our App uses Anthropic's artificial intelligence API (Claude AI) to analyze photos and provide hair health assessments. When you submit a photo for analysis:

  • A compressed copy of your photo (resized to max 1024px, JPEG quality 70%) is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to Anthropic's API servers.
  • No other personal data (name, email, or account information) is included in the AI request.
  • Anthropic processes the image solely to return hair and scalp analysis metrics and does not retain your photo after the API request is complete (typically a few seconds).
  • The analysis results are returned to our servers and stored in your account history.
  • Analysis is for informational purposes only and is not medical advice.

Before your first analysis, the App will ask for your consent to transmit your photo to Anthropic as described above.

Anthropic's privacy policy is available at: anthropic.com/privacy

5. Facial Images and Hair Analysis

When you photograph your hairline using the frontal angle, your photo may include your face. We want to be transparent about how this image data is handled:

  • We do not use facial recognition technology.
  • We do not identify you from your face or build biometric profiles.
  • Photos are analyzed solely for hair and scalp characteristics, density, coverage, texture, and Norwood scale staging.
  • Frontal photos containing your face are transmitted to Anthropic for AI analysis and are not retained by Anthropic after the request completes.
  • Your photos are stored in your Trichometrics account and are only accessible by you.
  • You may delete individual photos or your entire account at any time from the Profile screen in the App.

Retention of facial images: Photos (including frontal ones) are retained in your account for as long as you maintain the account, or until you delete them. Anthropic does not retain photos beyond the duration of the API call. When you delete your account, all photos are permanently removed.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Supabase: Secure cloud database and storage for account management and storing your photos and results.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI): AI image analysis. Anthropic processes images on our behalf and does not retain photos after the analysis request completes. See anthropic.com/privacy.
  • Apple (Sign In with Apple): If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple authenticates your identity and may share your name and email address (which may be a private relay address) with us. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
  • Google (Sign In with Google): If you choose to sign in with Google, Google authenticates your identity and shares your name and email address with us. See policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can access your data through the App at any time.
  • Correction: You can update your profile information in the App settings.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data through the App settings. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
